DO YOU LOVE CHOCOLATE?

Enter the Ghirardelli Chocolate Championship at the Ohio State Fair in 2010

If you love chocolate and enjoy baking with the best, the 2010 Ohio State Fair Ghirardelli Chocolate Championship is for you! This chocolate "showdown" rewards the makers of the most tempting treats, snacks, cakes, candies, cookies, and desserts. Any type of chocolate creation is welcome!

First and second place entries win $150 and $50 respectively. The top three winners at each fair take home a Ghirardelli gift basket, plus a prize ribbon, apron and award certificate. In addition, one random contestant at each fair will win a Ghirardelli gift basket.

Create your recipe with at least one all natural Ghirardelli baking product (chocolate chips, bars and/or cocoa), and up to 10 other ingredients. To start, savor this "Chocolate Saltine Toffee" (recipe follows) and dream up a delicious entry of your own.

Judging is based on chocolate taste (40%), originality/creativity (30%), appearance (20%), and ease of preparation (10%).Entries are judged at the fairgrounds of participating fairs.
