2010 OHIO STATE FAIR FINE ARTS EXHIBITION

COLUMBUS—   The 157th Ohio State Fair will display works from Ohio amateur and professional artists for the 2010 Fine Arts Exhibition.

The Fine Arts Exhibition will showcase 231 works of art chosen from 848 submissions from 307 Ohio artists. The exhibition will be open daily for viewing throughout the Fair. All artwork, including paintings, drawings, ceramics, glass, sculptures, photography and more, can be viewed in the Cox Fine Arts Center between 9 am and 9 pm during the Fair.

This year's professional jurors for the Fine Arts Exhibition include Tim Rietenbach and Annegreth Nill, both of Columbus, Ohio, along with amateur juror Melissa Vogley Woods, also of Columbus, Ohio.

The Fine Arts Exhibition will also host a variety of unique activities and events for the whole family to enjoy. There will be street art and body art, in addition to a hands-on mural for fairgoers of all ages. Improvisational, flamenco and folk dancers will entertain the crowd. Musical entertainment will add a soundtrack to the events.

New to the Fine Arts Exhibition in 2010 is the first annual Short Film Division. Ohio filmmakers 17 and up were invited to present their 10-minute short films for judging.

Fairgoers are invited to participate in The Ohio State Fine Arts Patron Purchase Program. The Patron Purchase Program is designed to provide new and established collectors of Ohio artworks a unique opportunity to add to their collections. The program also provides artists visibility and exposure while allowing patron members the opportunity to preview and make purchases prior to the opening of the exhibition.
