About the program

This program allows individuals to honor a loved one with the purchase of a personally-inscribed honorary or memorial brick to be displayed at the brand-new, Ohio-themed carousel, opening at the 2026 Ohio State Fair. Bricks cost $200 each and will be inscribed and installed prior to the 2026 Fair. The Ohio Expo Center & State Fairgrounds reserves the right to approve all inscriptions and memorial brick purchases. All bricks must be reserved by April 1, 2026. Orders will close following this date.

Frequently asked questions

How do I order a brick?

All bricks must be reserved using this form. Payment is submitted as a second step with payment being directed to our fund at the Columbus Foundation (scroll down for more information).

How much does a brick cost?

Each brick is $200, and includes the cost of an inscribed brick to be displayed at the Ohio Expo Center & State Fairgrounds near the new carousel. No bricks, plaques, or other items will be shipped to purchasers.

When are brick orders due?

All orders must be submitted no later than April 1, 2026, to be installed near the carousel. No orders will be processed after that date.

Who can be honored with a brick?

Individuals who have exhibited a distinguished or unique relationship between themselves and the Ohio State Fair are appropriate to be recognized in this manner. The Ohio Expo Center & State Fairgrounds is a public space and it is generally not appropriate for memorializing individuals who did not have a significant relationship to the Fair. The Ohio Expo Center & State Fairgrounds reserves the right to approve all inscriptions and memorial brick purchases.

Are brick purchases tax deductible?

Yes, funds received by the Ohio Expositions and State Fair Fund at the Columbus Foundation are tax deductible.

How long can my inscription be?

Engraving can be up to 3 lines with 16 characters per line including spaces.

How do I pay for a brick?

All sales will directly benefit the Ohio Expositions and State Fair Fund at the Columbus Foundation to benefit the growth of the Ohio State Fair, including priority initiatives to benefit youth exhibitors and agricultural education. Sample screenshots outlining the process are listed below.

For payment:
  1. Click this link to the Columbus Foundation: https://columbusfdn.fcsuite.com/erp/donate/create/fund?funit_id=6018
  2. Navigate to "Make a one time donation"
  3. Select "Other Amount" and input $200.
  4. Under "Special Instructions" include "Brick Order" and the full name included on this order form (see sample screenshot below)
  5. Click the “Add to Cart” button
  6. On the Summary page, select “Individual” or Organization,” and fill out the other required fields only (i.e., name, email, phone).
  7. Click the “Proceed to Checkout” button
  8. Enter payment information and click the preferred “Pay” button. You will receive a donation receipt via email from The Columbus Foundation. Please note, this receipt will not include the brick engraving information. You will receive a separate, automated email from the Ohio State Fair with a copy of the information requested on your brick inscription.
