Sweet Addiction

Baking temperature: 325 degrees
Baking time: 40 minutes
Yield: 8 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 egg whites
  • ¾ c sugar
  • 1/8 t salt
  • ½ t vanilla
  • 1 ¼ t cinnamon
  • 1/8 t allspice
  • 4 c pecans (about 1 lb.)
  • 1/3 c butter

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees
  • Beat egg whites until soft peaks begin to form
  • Add sugar, salt, vanilla and spices. Beat until glossy
  • Fold nuts into egg white mixture and coat well
  • Place butter in 9 x 13” pan and put in oven to melt butter
  • Spread nuts evenly over melted butter
  • Bake for 30 minutes, stirring and turning nuts every 65 minutes until no butter remains in pan. Nuts will be light brown, dry and crispy
  • Allow to cool and store in an airtight container. Will keep for a couple of weeks, but they won’t last that long!
