Any entry made June 21 at 1:01 pm - July 15 will be charged $75.00 per exhibitor, per species, plus the usual per animal fee.

The Open Dairy Show will be a sanctioned American Dairy Goat Association Show. The Junior and Senior shows ARE separately sanctioned. ADGA rules shall govern.
SPECIAL RULES
All Dairy Goats exhibited must be registered with the American Dairy Goat Association. All open class registration papers must be checked with the show secretary by 9:00 p.m., Friday, July 31. ( Stamped Duplicates will be accepted only for does 6 months of age or younger.) No signed transfers unless entry is in the original owner's name. The certificate of registration for the animal shall stand in the name of the individual, the exhibitor’s immediate family, or the family’s farm name. Any animal owned in partnership with anyone outside of the immediate family must have the individual name listed on the registration paper.
All entry information must be provided at the time of entry. If the registration number is not known for a kid in the process of being registered, “pending” should be entered. Failure to provide complete individual animal information will result in a penalty fee of $15. Entry and penalty fees are non-refundable.
ANIMAL HEALTH
Dairy goats presented for exhibition must show no evidence of contagious lymphadenitis (superficial abscesses), contagious ecthyma (sore mouth), ringworm or foot rot. These goats are not to be unloaded and cannot be shown. The exhibition officials and the approved veterinarian have the right to bar any animal from being unloaded, penned in the barn, or shown. They may order the removal of any animal. These decisions are final.

All out of state exhibitors must have health papers.
Any breed failing to exhibit a total of 20 animals will be cause for evaluation of continuing this breed or division in future shows.
Male (buck) goats are barred from the fairgrounds.
All goats must be dehorned.
MILK OUT
There will not be a milk out for Senior Does (Milkers). However the judge will take into consideration when placing animals if he/she feels an animal is over bagged.
GROUP CLASSES
Group entries shall be made prior to arrival at the Fair and follow the same entry deadlines.
All goats exhibited in the group classes must have been exhibited in the individual classes of that breed.
Get of Sire shall consist of three does of any age out of the same sire.
Produce of Dam shall consist of two does, the produce of one dam. Produce need not be owned by the exhibitor. Entries in this class shall be made in the name of the dam.
Dam and Daughter shall consist of two does, the dam and a daughter. Both does do not need to be owned by the exhibitor. Entries in this class shall be made in the name of the dam.
Breeder’s Trio shall consist of three does bred and owned by the exhibitor. Each doe entered in this class shall show on her registration paper the same name listed as breeder, owner and be the same as listed on entry blank.
Best Dairy Herd shall consist of four does in milk, owned by the same exhibitor.

SPECIAL RULES
GOAT JUDGING
Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion Junior Doe and a Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion Senior Doe will be selected in each breed. These does will compete for the breed champion and reserve champion for the Ohio State Fair after the Sr doe champion and reserve are selected for each breed.
Group classes will combine entries from the Junior Doe and Senior Doe shows and will not be part of the ADGA official show.
Any doe that has ever freshened or that is being milked regularly shall compete in the Senior Doe Division. This includes dry and precocious milkers.
Herd signs of a reasonable size may be placed throughout the show.
Through the courtesy of the Ohio State Fair, an award to be known as the Governor’s Award will be presented to the best herd of four animals.
A best Doe in Show will be selected for both the Jr and Sr doe shows. The best in show lineup will occur at the end of each show.
PREMIER BREEDER
A banner for Premier Breeder for each breed will be awarded based on the top 8 placings of goats for that breed shown by an exhibitor and placings in 2 group classes. Points will be awarded based on the placing of each goat/group and tallied for the determination of the award winner. If an exhibitor has more than 8 goats entered, the points of the highest placing 8 animals will be used.
IMPORTANT RULES
Exhibitor must wear white trousers or skirts. White shirts preferred, however colored dress “farm shirts” may be worn.NO patterned clothes with white background will be permitted. Herd names and logos may be worn. No shorts or open toed shoes. No mini skirts. Shirts should be appropriate for the show ring.
All chores must be completed by 9:00 a.m.
If an exhibitor leaves the show ring before being excused by the judge it may result in forfeiture of all premiums.
Exhibitors may enter, show and receive money on three (3) animals per class.
Substitutions may be made only for animals entered in the same breed and class as the original entry.
Each Milking Class of the Show will have a First and Second Best Udder selected. These two animals will receive a Best Udder Ribbon and will be the only animals permitted to show in the Best Udder Class for each breed.
